Hinduja Group flagship Ashok Leyland on Wednesday reported massive drop of 20 per cent in its overall sales at 15,493 units in December 2018 majorly due poor performance of M&HCV segment.
The commercial vehicle major dispatched 19,251 units in December 2017, Ashok Leyland said in a release.
Due muted consumer demand the sales of M&HCVs fall sharply by 29 per cent at 11,295 units in December 2018 as compared to 15,948 units in the year-ago month.
The LCV segment, however, witnessed a growth of 27 per cent at 4,198 units during month under review against 3,303 units in December 2017.
Cummulative sales during April-December 2018 period also jumped 19 per cent at 137,848 units.
