BMW is aiming to take on American EV manufacturer Tesla with its latest all-electric sedan, which will be called as i4. The German luxury carmaker has already started road testing of the vehicle and published the image of the car as well.

BMW i4 electric sedan comes as part of the brand's strategy to launch 5 new electrified models by 2023. Upon launch, it is expected to challenge the Tesla Model 3 sedan.
BMW is likely to start selling the car from 2021, when it will join the other models from the i division, including i3 hatchback.
BMW is developing the new generation 5 battery pack, to be called as eDrive technology, which is expected to debut in the i4 electric sedan.
Also, it will come with fast charging technology enabling the car's battery to be charged up to 80 per cent in 35 minutes when connected to a 150 kW DC fast charger.
Pricing information about the electric sedan is yet to be disclosed.
