Sajeev Rajasekharan, former EVP of Suzuki Motorcycle India, has joined cult bike maker Harley Davidson India as the Managing Director, effective this month.
Rajasekharan, who had joined Suzuki as executive vice president (EVP) for sales and after-sales in July 2016, will be seen driving Harley Davidson's recently announced plans to launch mid-size motorcycles in the 250-500 cc range in India.
Harley Davidson India appoints Sajeev Rajasekharan as MD He brings with him over two decades of experience in marketing, sales and operations. Prior to Suzuki, he last served as Panasonic India's deputy divisional managing director (channel and retail).
He also played an key role in setting up and developing Electrolux's India (PE Electronics Limited) operations as COO of the company.
Rajasekharan's had a decade long stint in Samsung in various roles which culminated as head of Home Appliances.
Harley Davidson, in July announced its plans to launch a mid-size motorcycle in the 250-500 cc range for emerging markets with a focus in India and to challenge Royal Enfield’s leadership position.
The company will be addressing this fast-growing segment through an alliance with a manufacturer in Asia after a tieup between TVS and BMW and one between Bajaj Auto and Triumph Motorcycles.
