The upcoming Hyundai Elantra facelift has been spied testing in India on a few occasions. The 2019 model is only a few months away from its launch and will be trying to compete with the recently launched new Honda Civic. The refreshed Elantra is more than just a small nip and tuck job. Like we said, the 2019 Hyundai Elantra is a comprehensively updated model that offers a thoroughly refreshed styling package.
The front-end of the vehicle receives a big makeover. There are many new components here – you get a new bumper, new grille, a new hood and even new headlights. Together, these elements give the car a very sharp-looking front-end that looks as modern and stylish as that of the new Honda Civic.
The 2019 Hyundai Elantra even looks fresh on the side profile. This is due to the revised front and rear fenders and the new sporty looking alloy wheels. Combined with the already bold character lines and the bold surface treatment, the new bits add a lot of freshness to the side of the traditional Honda Civic rival.
The rear-end of the Hyundai Elantra Facelift looks as fresh as the front-end. It receives a new bumper that holds the registration plate. The trunk lid is also new and has the brand lettering below the Hyundai logo. The new tail lamps complete the new look of the rear fascia. Even the interior gets some changes. The steering wheel is new and looks sportier. The air conditioning controls are also new.
Other than this, you can expect the 2019 Hyundai Elantra to offer some additional features to come across as a better-equipped model than the new Honda Civic. The engine options will continue unchanged, which means the 2019 Hyundai Elantra will continue to offer 2.0-litre petrol and a 1.6-litre diesel engine but will be BS6 compliant. The petrol motor produces 152 PS and 196 Nm and the diesel engine offers 128 PS and 265 Nm. Both the engines will be available with 6-speed manual and automatic transmissions. Prices should see a slight increment that will be justified through the newness on offer.
