Maruti Suzuki's premium sedan Ciaz has sold more than 2.7 lakh units in the last five years, claims the automaker in a regulatory filing.
Maruti Suzuki also informed that the top-end Alpha trim contributes to more than 54 per cent of the total sales for the sedan. T
he Nexa Blue colour variant contributed to over 30 per cent of the total Ciaz sales, claims the brand.
The sedan was launched in 2014 and it competes with rivals like Honda City and Hyundai Verna. Currently, the Ciaz has 30 per cent market share in the midsize sedan segment and 17 per cent of its total sales are attributed to the automatic variants of the car.
Currently sold through the Nexa retail network, Maruti Suzuki Ciaz received a major facelift in August last year.
The sedan came with the automaker's new 1.5-litre K15 Smart Hybrid petrol engine with combined with SHVS powered by a lithium-ion battery.
