Maruti Suzuki has launched the BS-VI compliant variant of WagonR S-CNG in India on Friday, at a starting price of Rs 5.25 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi).
Available in Lxi and Lxi (O) variant options, the hatchback is priced up to Rs 5.32 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi).
The automaker claims WagonR S-CNG BS-VI model will offer a mileage of 32.52 km/kg and it comes as part of the company's Mission Green Million initiative that was announced at Auto Expo 2020.
Maruti Suzuki, under its Mission Green Million initiative, aims to sell the 10 lakh green vehicles in India in the next couple of years, spearheading their mass adoption across the country.
As Maruti Suzuki claims, this strategy is in line with Indian government's vision of reducing oil import and enhancing the share of natural gas in the energy basket of the country from 6.2 per cent now to 15 per cent by 2030.
