Tata Motors reveals details of Nexon AMT

Tata showcased the Nexon AMT at the Auto Expo in February, 2018. And now, a couple of months later, the Indian carmaker is set to launch the automatic version of the sub-4m SUV in India. The Nexon will get a 6-speed AMT which will be available with both petrol and diesel engines.

The gearbox is a 6-speed Automated Manual Transmission (AMT) and the compact SUV will get multi-drive modes – ECO, CITY, and SPORT.

The Nexon AMT also gets the creep function, which basically makes the car move forward without any accelerator input with the gear stick in ā€˜Dā€™ mode.

In terms of pricing, expect a premium of about Rs 50,000 over the current top-spec models ā€“ the XZ+ petrol (with the dual-tone finish) retails at Rs 9.02 lakh while the XZ+ diesel costs Rs 9.89 lakh (all-prices, ex-showroom, Delhi).
