Indian smartphone market leader Xiaomi has launched a new car charger in the country called the Mi Car Charger Basic. Priced at Rs 599, the device is selling at a discount of Rs 25%, making its price Rs 449 on Xiaomi's official website, Mi.com.
The Mi Car Charger Basic comes equipped with Qualcomm Quick Charge 3.0 certified USB port that is in Red colour. Xiaomi claims that it will fast charge up to 18W. Apart from this, the Mi Car Charger Basic also offers another USB port, which means that users can charge two gadgets simultaneously. It is compatible with both types of DC socket found in cars (12V/24V).
According to Xiaomi, the Mi Car Charger Basic comes with four layer of circuit chipset protection 'to ensure fast charging while ensuring safety of the device and car.' These four are -- Output Overcurrent Protection, Short Circuit Protection, Output Overvoltage Protection and High Temperature Protection.
In terms of design, the Mi Car Charger Basic comes with an aesthetic Blue LED Ring that as per Xiaomi makes it easier for users to locate it in the car, when driving at night.
Only available in Black colour option, it comes with six months of limited warranty from Xiaomi.
Just today, the company has also launched a new app called the Mint Browser. It is a web browser from the Chinese company that is currently available only for Android users in the form on app on Google Play Store.
Xiaomi claims that its Mint Browser is one of the "best web browsers for Android phones." Weighing less than 10MB in size, the Mint Browser app -- just like other internet browsers -- comes with multi-window support and an incognito mode as well.
The app comes with an inbuilt Dark Mode, said to be comfortable for using it in low-light conditions. It also comes with Google Voice Search support meaning that it allows users to search using voice commands. There is also an option to reduce the data usage, while using Xiaomi's Mint Browser.
