This is a very important part of the haircare routine. Not doing this can result in unnecessary hair breakage, to a large extent. This can easily be avoided by sparing just five minutes after the shower. Here are some natural hair detanglers to know.

Natural hair detanglers are:

1.Apple Cider Vinegar: The most efficient ingredient that one can find at home is apple cider vinegar. The acidic nature of the vinegar does magic to the hair and prevents build-up on the scalp. It is a natural conditioner and balances the pH of the hair. The comb just glides through the hair when apple cider vinegar is used because it flattens the hair surface. The type of vinegar used should be organic in nature to achieve maximum benefits. One method to use it is to rinse your hair with it, right after shampooing and conditioning. Later on, blot dry and comb. The second method is to use it as a spray. To a 2-ounce glass spray bottle, add 1.5 teaspoons of apple cider vinegar and 5 drops of lavender essential oil. Let this mixture sit for about 10 minutes and fill the rest of the bottle with distilled water. Shake well and use.

2.Coconut Oil: This is not a great option for on the go use, as your hair might turn greasy after the application, but works great when you have a lot of time to spend on your beauty routine. Coconut oil is the reigning ingredient nowadays in the natural care ingredients and it does not let you down with detangling too. It is a natural moisturiser as it has high levels of saturated fatty acids. Take 2 tablespoons of coconut oil and olive oil each, along with a quarter cup of warm water. Put them in a spray bottle and mix them up well. Spray on and massage for the oil to seep in. Detangle with your fingers first and then use your comb to smooth it away.

3.Aloe Vera: This wonder plant has 20 amino acids that conditions and promotes moisture to the hair. Mix 1 tablespoon of aloe vera gel or juice, ½ tablespoon of vegetable glycerine, 5 tablespoons of distilled water and 10 drops of essential oil. That's it! Use some of it and store the rest at room temperature.

4.Marshmallow Root: The marshmallow root is one of the recent additions to the practice of Ayurveda for its wide number of benefits. The Indian name for it is gulkhairo. Add few drops of an essential oil, of your choice, to 3 tablespoons of apple cider vinegar and keep aside. Boil 3 tablespoons of marshmallow root and 1½ cups water for 15-20 minutes. Allow to cool for some time and then strain the gel formed using a cheesecloth. Add the vinegar mixture and 1½ teaspoon of jojoba or olive oil to the marshmallow root gel that is strained. Pour into a spray bottle and use.

5.Flaxseed: A quarter cup of flaxseeds, 2 cups of water and few drops of grapefruit seed extract will shoo away your worries about detangling. Boil the seeds in water by stirring now and then. It forms a gel as the heat increases, so, switch off the burner when you achieve the required consistency. Strain the mixture and add the extract. Store in an airtight container and thin the mixture down with water, if needed, so that it is easier to spray on.

6.Glycerine: Two tablespoons of glycerine and 10 drops of lavender essential oil. This is all you need. Mix them and pour into an 8 oz spray bottle. Fill up the rest of the bottle with water and gently shake before using. Make sure to use vegetable glycerine and not the synthetic one. It is absolutely safe as the vegetable glycerine is produced from plant oils. Any other essential oil of your choice can be used too. This mix makes the hair so smooth to handle and makes it even smoother when the same quantity of aloe vera gel, as the glycerine, is added.

7.Conditioner And Water: Here goes the best DIY for the lazy ones and it is effective too. It calls for one part conditioner and two parts hot water. Boiling water should not be used, just hot enough to help the conditioner melt. Mix both and use it to detangle without any side effects.
