Tamil actor, playwright and screenwriter Crazy Mohan passed away following a cardiac arrest on Monday afternoon. He was 67.
Born in 1952 as Rangachari, Mohan started Crazy Creations with his brother Maadhu Balaji and wrote many stage plays, which were runaway hits.
Besides playwriting, he was known for his collaborations with actor-filmmaker Kamal Haasan. Kamal and Mohan collaborated on Sathi Leelavathi, Kaathala Kaathala, Michael Madana Kama Rajan, Apoorva Sagodharargal, Indian, Avvai Shanmughi, Thenali, Panchathanthiram and Vasool Raja MBBS.
Crazy Mohan’s first film as dialogue writer was K Balachander’s Poikkal Kudhirai. Creatively, he was a force to be reckoned with as he wrote over 30 plays, appeared in over 40 movies and penned 100 short stories.
