Bobby-Sanjay duo’s next is with Mammootty

Bobby and Sanjay are one of the best scriptwriters in Malayalam currently. The uniqueness in their subjects make them stand apart from others. After last year’s blockbuster period flick ‘Kayamkulam Kochunni’, the duo’s next is ‘Uyare’, a heroine centric film about an acid attack survivor. Parvathy, Asif Ali and Tovino Thomas play the lead roles in the movie, which is gearing up for release.

After ‘Uyare’, Bobby and Sanjay have two other films coming up one with their regular director Rosshan Andrrews and the other with Santhosh Viswanath of ‘Chirakodinka Kinavukal’ fame. The latter will have superstar Mammootty in the lead. Reports about such a project first emerged two years back, but there has been no further updates about it.

In a recent interview, Sanjay confirmed that the project is indeed on. It is said to be a political movie in which Mammootty plays the role of Kerala Chief Minister. Vishnu Unnikrishnan, Renji Panicker and Sreenivasan were also initially said to be part of the cast, but the makers are yet to confirm it. Official announcement is expected to be made shortly.

Mammootty has a busy schedule ahead of him. He is currently shooting for ‘Maamaankam’, directed by M Padmakumar. After that, he will start works for ‘Ganagandharvan’, a comedy entertainer directed by Ramesh Pisharody. ‘Bilal’ with Amal Neerad and ‘Ameer’ with Vinod Vijayan is also waiting in the pipeline.
