‘Djibouti’ film crew stranded in Africa to return Kochi today

More than 70 people included in the crew of Malayalam movie ‘Djibouti’, who were stranded in Africa, will land at Kochi international airport on Friday at 6 pm. Actors Dileesh Pothen and Amith Chakkalakkal are among those to return.

They will fly back to Kerala in the chartered flight arranged by producer Joby P Sam.

Though the shooting was concluded on April 18, the crew was stranded in Africa due to the lockdown and cancellation of international flights.

Djibouti government, producer of the movie and Indian Embassy took effort for their evacuation.

Joby P Sam and his wife Sweety Joby are producing the movie.

Amith Chakkalakkal is playing the lead role in the movie. Shimla native Shakun Jaiswal is playing the female lead. Dileesh Pothen, Gregory,Athira, Rohit Maggu, one-and-a-half-year-old child artist George, his family and fight master Run Ravi are also among the stranded crew.

Joby P Sam and Shakun will land in Mumbai. Other crew members who will land in Kochi and will undergo quarantine as per government’s guidelines.

The Chennai natives in the team will be also quarantined in Kerala.
