Thiruvananthapuram: The online registration for the 25th International Film Festival of Kerala will commence on January 30.
The film festival will be conducted in four different regions - Thiruvananthapuram, Kochi, Palakkad and Thalassery in compliance with strict COVID-19 protocol.
The festival is scheduled to be conducted from February 10 to 14 in Thiruvananthapuram, February 17 to 21 in Kochi, February 23 to 27 in Thalassery and March 1 to 5 in Palakkad.
Eminent French-Swiss filmmaker and critic Jean-Luc Godard has been chosen for the Lifetime Achievement Award in this year’s IFFK, informed Chalachithra Academy chairman Kamal, vice chairperson Beena Paul and Academy secretary C Ajoy at a press meet here.
Considering the COVID-19 situation, the delegate fee has been reduced to Rs 750 and Rs 400 for students.
Delegates must do their registration at the festival, which is organised in their home region, informed the authority.
The home regions are classified as Thiruvananthapuram (Thiruvananthapuram, Kollam and Pathanamthitta) Kochi (Alappuzha, Ernakulam, Kottayam, Idukki, Thrissur), Palakkad (Palakkad, Malappuram, Wayanad, Thrissur) and Thalassery (Kozhikode, Kannur, Wayanad, Kasaragod).
Delegates from Alappuzha will have facility for registration at Thiruvananthapuram and Kochi. While Thrissur natives will be allowed to register at at Kochi and Palakkad.
Delegates from Wayanad will be allowed to register at Palakkad and Thalassery.
Delegates who attended IFFK in previous years can complete the registration through the official website https://registration.iffk.in/ by using their log in ID.
Admission to theatres will be entirely on the basis of reservation. Admission will be allowed only after thermal scanning. Moreover, seats in theatres will only be provided maintaining social distancing.
Kerala Chalachithra Academy in collaboration with the Department of Health will make arrangement for antigen testing before purchasing a delegate pass at all the venues. Passes will also be issued to those who present a COVID negative certificate - tested 48 hours before the start of the fair.
Delegate pass will be issued only to those who test negative.
