Dulquer Salmaan’s eagerly awaited film ‘Kurup’ is currently in the post-production phase. It is learnt that the makers are now working on the teaser edit. National award Vivek Harshan is editing the film. If things go as per plans, the teaser will be out on March 26. It will be played in theatres screening the Mohanlal starrer ‘Marakkar Arabikadalinte Simham’. If that happens, it will be double the treat for Malayali cinephiles as both the films have high expectations.
‘Kurup’ got wrapped up only last month after shooting in multiple schedules across various locations in India and abroad. Srinath Rajendran is directing the film, which is based on the life of Kerala’s infamous criminal, Sukumara Kurup. Jithin K Jose has written the story and screenplay is penned jointly by KS Aravind and Daniel Sayooj Nair.
Along with Dulquer, ‘Kurup’ has some other stars like Indrajith Sukumaran, Tovino Thomas, Sunny Wayne, Sobhita Dhulipala and Shine Tom Chacko. On the technical front, cinematographer Nimish Ravi of ‘Luca’ fame, music director Sushin Shyam and production desinger Vinesh Banglan form the core team.
Regarding the release date, we hear that the makers are eyeing the Eid season. An official confirmation is expected to be made soon. Dulquer himself is producing the film under his banner, Wayfarer Films. M Star Entertainments is also associated in the production.
