PM requests Bollywood celebs to urge people to vote in the upcoming general elections

The nation is gearing up to hold the next general elections, the largest in the world, scheduled in April and May this year, which will see about 900 million Indians eligible to cast their vote and choose the next government. Prime Minister Narendra Modi today took to his Twitter handle and tagged the Bollywood film fraternity and requested celebs to urge people to go and vote and create greater voter awareness among people ahead of the 2019 Lok Sabha Elections.

In his first tweet, PM Modi addressed Malayalam superstar Mohanlal and Telugu superstar Nagarjuna Akkineni to tell people to vote. PM Modi then addressed Bollywood celebs including Shah Rukh Khan, Amitabh Bachchan, Karan Johar, Salman Khan and Aamir Khan to creatively ensure high voter awareness and participation in the coming elections.

The Prime Minister also tagged Bollywood female leads like Deepika Padukone, Alia Bhatt, Anushka Sharma, Bhumi Pednekar to urge people to vote in large numbers in the coming elections.

n one of his tweets addressed to Ranveer Singh, Varun Dhawan, and Vicky Kaushal, PM Modi wrote, "Many youngsters admire you. It is time to tell them: Apna Time Aa Gaya Hai and that it is time to turn up with high Josh to a voting centre near you".

Apart from Bollywood celebs, PM Narendra Modi also tweeted to leading politicians, journalists, sports personalities, industrialists, spiritual leaders and prominent personalities in various fields to encourage increased voter participation in the upcoming elections.
