Ram Gopal Verma releases D Company teaser. The film producer and director hailing from south has set a mark in Bollywood, he took twitter to announce his new film D Company based on Dawood Ibrahim, the notorious don who ruled Bombay in the 80s. He released the teaser of his upcoming film on his YouTube Channel RGV Channel.
According to Ram Gopal Verma the movie is not just about Dawood Ibrahim it is also about the number of people who lived and died under the don’s shadow.
Ram Gopal Varma describes the film D Company as “Mahabharat of Underworld”. Talking about his dream project, RGV said in a statement, “This is my dream project and my research on the subject matter of D Company came from my extensive interactions over the last 20 years with gangsters to encounter cops to middlemen of the underworld and also many film people who were involved with the underworld.
I have always been intrigued to tell the uniqueness of the Indian underworld and its strange and weird mix where everyone from criminals to politicians to cops to film stars hopping into each other’s beds. Though Mafia stories have been told multiple times, D Company intends to realistically capture both the characters and incidents responsible for the creation of the most powerful criminal organisation ever in India named after its leader Dawood Ibrahim, who along with his protegee Chota Rajan, held Mumbai city in an iron grip for many decades”.
The film is produced by Sagar Prasad Machanur of Spark Productions. D Company has already made a lot of noise with the first look and is all set to release in five languages. The film will be released in Telugu, Kannada, Hindi, Tamil and Malayalam languages. The team will shortly announce the release date of the film. RGV has made the film with most of the newcomers.
