RJ Balaji to direct Nayanthara’s next Mookuthi Amman

RJ Balaji, who was last seen in LKG, is all set to make his directorial debut with Mookuthi Amman, starring Nayanthara in the lead. Besides writing the story, dialogues and screenplay, Balaji will also direct the film, along with NJ Saravanan. The makers released the first look poster on Twitter last evening.

Touted to be an out-and-out satirical comedy, the film is in the pre-production stage. More details regarding the cast and crew are expected to be announced soon.

Mookuthi Amman will be produced by Ishari Ganesh under his home banner Vels Films International, and is eyeing a 2020 summer release. Meanwhile, reports suggest that RJ Balaji is on board for Indian 2. However, an official word is awaited.

On the other hand, Nayanthara, who starred in Bigil, is busy with Netrikann, directed by Milind Rau of Aval fame. The film, produced by her beau Vignesh Shivn under Rowdy Pictures, is said to be an official remake of Korean thriller Blind. Further, Nayanthara will be seen in AR Murugadoss’ Darbar, opposite Rajinikanth.
