TN government can put a full stop to piracy: Vishal

Actor Vishal, who is also the president of Tamil Film Producers Council (TFPC), has always been vocal about putting an end to the piracy business, which affects the film industry. He's even worked to get the admins of various piracy sites arrested. More recently, he said that if the government of Tamil Nadu, which he respects the most, takes stringent measures, piracy can easily be curbed.

The actor, along with other members of TFPC, had met Chief Minister Edappadi Palanisamy to thank him and his government's help in conducting the Ilaiyaraaja 75 event.

Later, speaking to the media, Vishal said, "We've requested the government's help in regulating the local body entertainment taxes levied on Tamil films. We've also wanted them to prioritise Tamil films over movies from other languages when multiple films are released in the state at the same time. More importantly, we've requested the government to help us tackle piracy issues. They've banned porn websites, and they should do the same for piracy sites, too."
