Congress-led UDF government in Kerala has no plans now to go for an early Assembly elections in the wake of Congress candidate’s victory in the Aruvikkara assembly by-poll, Chief Minister Oommen Chandy said.
“Seeking an early fresh mandate is a new idea mooted by you (media). We have not examined it,” Chandy told reporters during cabinet briefing.
Assembly polls in the state is due in early next year. K.S Sabarinathan of Congress won by a margin of 10,128 votes defeating his nearest CPI-M led LDF opposition at Aruvikkara. Chandy also ruled out any need for re-shuffle in the cabinet now and said, “UDF government will continue with its positive politics and seek the support of people”.
“People of the state want a positive politics and UDF wanted to go in that route,” he said.
