Pune, Sept 18, 2013: Onion prices have sky rocketed once again following an acute shortage in supply.
In Delhi, onions are being sold at a whopping price of Rs 70 to 80 per kg. In Kashmir too, onions are priced at Rs 80 per kg. Onion prices in the retail market in Navi Mumbai are presently at Rs 70 per kg while in Bhopal, onions cost Rs 65 per kg.
Patna may just be the cheapest place to get them at Rs 50 a kilo. Traders say a hike in fuel prices and rain in Maharashtra in the last few weeks has hit supply and led to a spike in prices.
