South-west monsoon weak over Kerala

Thiruvananthapuram, Monday, June 25, 2012: South-west monsoon has been weak over Kerala. Rain occurred at a few places in Kerala and Lakshadweep. Ottappalam reported an isolated heavy rainfall of 7 cm.

According to meteorology sources here, the other chief amounts of rainfall reports in cm are Vadakara 6, Vellanikkara and Vadakkancherry 4 each. Kozhikode, Koilandy, Angadippuram, Perunthalmanna, Pattambi, Thaliparamba and Thrissur 3 each.

Karipur airport, Ponnani, Alathur, Parambikulam, Thalassery, Kunnamkulam and Peerumedu 2 each and CIAL Kochi, Irikkur, Nilampur, Mannarkkad, Thrithala, Chalakudy, Enamackal and Kollam 1 each.

Forecast valid until the morning of June 27, rain or thunder showers will occur at many places in Kerala and at a few places in Lakshadweep, outlook for subsequent two days no significant change.
