1 lt milk
½ cup aval/poha/beaten rice
sugar ½ tsp
almonds, slivered pistachios, slivered 8-10
cashews, broken into two halves
1.Boil milk in a large deep vessel. Stir continuously to avoid sticking on the vessel. It is best to boil in medium flame.
2.Wash poha/aval/beaten rice until clear water flows. Loosen the rice with fingertips and separate. Keep it aside for 10 minutes.
3.When the milk looks thick and decreases to half the volume, add aval/beaten rice and stir well. Now add sugar and cardamom. Mix till the sugar dissolves.
4.Boil for 3-4minutes and then put it off flame. Garnish with almonds, cashews, raisins and pistachios.
