Cauliflower Pulao Recipe


Basmati rice- 1 cup
Cauliflower- 1 (cut into medium sized florets)
Green peas- ½ cup
Onion- 1 (sliced)
Tomatoes- 3 (chopped)
Ginger-garlic paste- 2tsp
Green chillies- 2 (slit)
Turmeric powder- ½ tsp
Red chilli powder- 1tsp
Cumin powder- 1tsp
Garam masala powder- 1tsp
Pepper powder- ½ tsp
Salt- as per taste
Cumin seeds- 1tsp
Cinnamon stick- 1
Green cardamoms- 2
Bay leaf- 1
Oil- 1tbsp
Water- 2 cups


1.Wash the rice thoroughly with water. Keep it aside.

2.Heat oil in a deep bottomed pan and add cumin seeds, bay leaf, cinnamon, cardamoms. Fry for a few seconds.

3.Then add in the sliced onion, ginger-garlic paste and fry for a 3-4 minutes on a medium flame.

4.Now add the cauliflower florets, green peas, green chillies and fry for another 3-4 minutes.

5.To the pan add in the chopped tomatoes, turmeric powder, red chilli powder, cumin powder, pepper powder, garam masala powder and cook for a few minutes.

6.Add in the basmati rice and stir fry for 2-3 minutes.Then add water and mix well. Cover and cook for 10-12 minutes on low flame.

7.Once it is cooked, transfer the pulao on a plate and serve.
