Indian cuisine has become quite popular all over the world due to its varied tastes and also the use of spices. 1.Asafetida

This spice is quite pungent, sharp and very strong. Even small amounts of this spice can change the taste of your dish. 2.Cinnamon

Cinnamon has a unique taste that can be both mildly sweet and hot. It helps in digestion and also known to have blood sugar and cholesterol reducing properties. It also helps in case you have nausea or common cold.

3.Cardamom

Also known as Elaichi, there are two kinds of cardamom- green and black. Cardamom prevents bad breath, indigestion, nausea increases your appetite and also helps elevate your mood when you are depressed. It is also used as a diuretic- helps urinate better and an expectorant that is instrumental in bringing out phlegm from the lungs.

4.Cloves

5.Black pepper

6.Fenugreek

7.Turmeric

It has a lot of anti-septic and anti-inflammatory properties and can be used to treat small cuts and bruises. A small amount of turmeric every day in your food will also delay the onset of Alzheimer’s. Its curative powers in cancer patients are also being researched.

8.Saffron

This spice is quite expensive but is used widely and is a good source of anti-oxidants. It is also good for the heart.

9.Fennel

These seeds have potassium, fiber and Vitamin C. It is anti-spasmodic and helps relieve colic in infants and little kids.
