Nirbhaya case convict Pawan Gupta files curative plea in SC

Nirbhaya case convict Pawan Gupta filed a curative petition in the Supreme Court on Friday.

He is among the four convicts to be executed on March 3.

In his plea to the country's highest court, Pawan sought his death sentence to be commuted to a life imprisonment sentence. Earlier, the Patiala House court in Delhi signed fresh death warrants for the four men convicted in the 2012 gang-rape case that shook the country.

A 'black warrant' signed in their names was revoked by an additional sessions judge in Delhi earlier after one of the convicts filed a mercy plea before President Ram Nath Kovind that was turned down.
