Thiruvananthapuram: The Kerala government has decided to seek permission of the Governor and the Speaker for investigation against Opposition leader Ramesh Chennithala and former minister V.S Sivakumar in connection with the bar bribery case.
The government is moving to initiate the probe on the basis of the new revelations made by Biju Ramesh, the businessman who raised allegation in bar bribery issue.
Earlier, the file for further probe, after the quick verification by the Vigilance, was submitted for the Chief Minister’s permission.
However, the government can proceed to next step only with the permission of the Governor and the Speaker as the alleged accused are public representatives and a probe was held against them already.
