BJP calls for resignation of Pinarayi Vijayan govt

Thiruvananthapuram: BJP state president K. Surendran demanded the resignation of Pinarayi Vijayan government after minister K.T Jaleel appeared before NIA for questioning in connection with the gold smuggling case.

“The Chief Minister has also come under the scanner. So the government should resign for an independent and impartial probe into the case,” Surendran said.

“The investigation agencies are probing on Jaleel’s link with gold smugglers and whether he helped them smuggle gold through importing the holy texts. Jaleel no more deserves to continue as minister. CPI(M) has taken an anti-democratic stand by opposing Jaleel’s resignation,” added the BJP leader.
