BJP slams CM for allowing Sivasankar to continue in IT secretary post

Kozhikode: BJP state president K. Surendran raised a sharp criticism against Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan for allowing M. Sivasankar IAS to continue as the IT secretary.

On Tuesday, the government removed Sivasankar from the post of principal secretary to Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan after media reported his links with Swapna Suresh, a key conspirator in the gold smuggling case.

Surendran alleged that Chief Minister allowed Sivasankar to continue in the post of IT secretary fearing his daughter’s links with the official.

"If the official continues in the post of IT secretary, it is because of the Chief Minister’s interest. When solar scam made headlines, Oommen Chandy also claimed that he has no link with Saritha. Now, Pinarayi Vijayan is also behaving the same way", BJP leader said while addressing a press meet on Tuesday. Desk: Asianet Online
