Cong workers want Oommen Chandy to contest from Puthuppally; hold protests

Puthuppally: Congress party workers held a protest in front of Oommen Chandy’s residence stating they would not let him contest from Nemom constituency for the Assembly election.

The protest was staged after Oommen Chandy reportedly expressed willingness to contest from Nemom which is the sitting seat of BJP.

However, Congress High Command has not taken any final decision.

Party workers including women protested in front of Chandy’s residence. They stated that Chandy represented them for 50 years and that they cannot let him go to Nemom.

Meanwhile, veteran party leader K.C Joseph said that Oommen Chandy will not switch his seat from Puthuppally.
