Thiruvananthapuram: The Kerala government has decided to conduct Covid-19 tests at all residences in areas with high Test Positivity Rate (TPR).
The decision was taken on Tuesday in a high-level meeting convened by chief secretary V.P Joy.
The mass testing will be conducted in areas with TPR double than that of district average. The meeting also approved to conduct genome study on the coronavirus mutant strains and decided to work with a target of reducing TPR to less than 3 percent.
The facilities such as ICU beds and ventilators are sufficient in the state. At present there is no situation demanding implementation of a weekend lockdown or more stringent measures, it further evaluated.
