Thiruvananthapuram: The Enforcement Directorate registered a case against Bineesh Kodiyeri, son of CPI(M) state secretary Kodiyeri Balakrishnan.
The Kochi office of the ED charged the case as per Prevention of Money Laundering Act (PMLA).
In the letter sent by the ED to the registration department, the ED has directed that the properties of Bineesh should not be transacted without informing the ED authorities as he is suspected to have committed crimes as per section 16, 17 and 18 of the Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act (UAPA).
The ED has found that Bineesh had close connections with Mohammed Anoop, one of the main accused in the drug peddling case.
On September 9, ED grilled Bineesh for 11 hours.
