Gold price hits fresh record high of Rs 38,600 for a sovereign

Kochi: Gold price on Monday surged Rs 800 to hit a fresh record high of Rs 51,833 per 10 gram.

The price of gold yet again touched the highest ever in Kerala. Gold price rose by Rs 480 on Monday and touched an all-time high of Rs 38,600 for a sovereign.

One gram of gold now costs Rs 4,825.

Gold price in India depends on a host of factors including international gold prices, currency rate movements, and also the local tariffs.

When international prices of gold move higher, gold rates in India see a change.
