Gold smuggling case: ED officials forced me to name CM, says Sandeep Nair

Kochi: Sandeep Nair, accused in gold smuggling case, has come out with a revelation against the Enforcement Directorate.

In a letter to the district judge, he revealed that some ED officials pressurised him to name Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan in the case.

The letter addressed to the district judge also revealed that the ED officials forced Sandeep to also name the son of a senior politician in the case.

Earlier, Customs had named Sandeep as accused in the dollar smuggling case. They also obtained permission to arrest him in the case. At present, Sandeep is in jail after being sentenced under COFEPOSA act.

Meanwhile, ED alleged conspiracy behind Sandeep’s letter to the district judge.
