Gold smuggling: Ramesh Chennithala demands CM's resignation

Thiruvananthapuram: Opposition leader Ramesh Chennithala demanded Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan's resignation in connection with the gold smuggling case.

"It is not just the IT Secretary but the Principal Secretary to the Chief Minister, who has been looting the public assets of the state and destroying it for the past 4.5 years, who was ousted", he added.

Ramesh said the Chief Minister's claim that he did not know Swapna Suresh, the woman considered the kingpin in the smuggling racket, was false. He produced photographs of Edge 2020 Space Conclave held in Thiruvananthapuram on January 31 and February 1 to demonstrate that Vijayan knew Swapna closely. Desk: Asianet Online
