Thiruvananthapuram: Opposition leader Ramesh Chennithala stated that the High Court verdict against K.T Jaleel, who engaged in nepotism and abuse of power, was a slap in the face of the CPI(M) and the chief minister who protected him.
"Jaleel resigned his ministerial post not because of his moral values but as he had no other choice.
He was sure that he would not get a favourable verdict from the high court", Ramesh said.
"Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan is a co-accused in nepotism case. It was Vijayan who relaxed the eligibility rules of General Manager post in Minority Development and Finance Corporation in order to appoint Jaleel’s relative, Ramesh alleged.
