Kerala confirms 240 new COVID-19 cases

Thiruvananthapuram: Kerala recorded 240 new COVID-19 cases on Saturday while 209 recovered from the virus, informed Health Minister K.K Shailaja in an official press release.

It is for the second consecutive day that Kerala is recording over 200 coronavirus cases. The state has been recording over 100 virus cases for the last 16 days.

The only relief is that Kerala has recorded the most recoveries on Saturday with 209.

Malappuram recorded the highest number with 37 positive cases, followed by Kannur – 35, Palakakd – 29, Pathanamthita – 22, Alappuzha - 20, Thrissur- 20, Thiruvananthapuram - 16, Kollam -16, Kasaragod – 14, Ernakulam – 13, Kozhikode – 8, Kottayam – 6, Idukki – 2 and Wayanad – 2.

Out of the total 240 people tested positive on Saturday, 152 had returned from abroad.
