Thiruvananthapuram: The Kerala government extended the statewide lockdown till June 16. The state has been under lockdown since May 8 following the sharp rise in coronavirus cases.
Kerala had on June 5 entered a relatively more intense and comparatively short-term (five-day) 'stepped-up' COVID-19 lockdown enforcement phase to accord the state government more latitude to exert greater epidemic transmission control.
According to sources, all restrictions presently in force will continue.
However, more shops will be allowed to open on Friday.
