Thiruvananthapuram: Kerala reported 6,334 fresh COVID-19 cases on Thursday, informed Health Minister K. K. Shailaja in a press release.
One UK returnee tested positive for COVID-19 in the last 24 hours. So far, 66 UK returnees have tested positive for coronavirus. Their samples were sent to Pune NIV for further tests. Out of them, 9 have been identified as mutant virus strain.=
61,279 samples were tested in the last 24 hours and the test positivity rate was at 10.34 percent.
6,229 recoveries were also recorded on Thursday. 5,658 people contracted the virus through contact. The source of 517 contact cases could not be traced.
21 deaths were confirmed in the last 24 hours.The total number of deaths in the state has reached 3,545.
