Kerala continues to witness sharp rise with 488 new COVID-19 cases

Thiruvananthapuram: The state recorded highest-ever single day spike of 488 coronavirus cases on Saturday, Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan said.

234 of the cases have been reported through contact. Two deaths were also reported.

Meanwhile, 143 patients have recovered from the disease in the last 24 hours in the state. Of the total cases, Thiruvananthapuram reported 69 cases of which 46 infected through contact.

Alappuzha reported 87 new cases, Pathanamthitta 54, Malappuram 51, Palakkad 48, Ernakulam 47, Thrissur 29, Kannur 19, Kasaragod and Kollam with 18 each. Desk: Asianet Online
