Thiruvananthapuram: Kerala recorded 160 new COVID-19 cases within 24 hours on Thursday while 202 people have recovered from the disease, Health Minister K.K Shailaja said in an official press release.
This is the highest number of coronavirus recoveries recorded in the state in 24 hours. However, Kerala continued to record over 100 virus cases for the 14th consecutive day.
Out of the 160 positive cases, Pathanamthtta has the highest number with 27 followed by Malappuram with 24. There are 18 new cases in Palakkad, 16 in Alappuzha, 9 each in Ernakulam, Thiruvananthapuram, Kollam, Kottayam, Thrissur and Kannur, 8 in Idukki, 7 in Kozhikode, 5 in Kasaragod and 1 in Wayanad.
14 persons contracted the virus through contact. They include 5 from Alappuzha, 4 each from Thiruvananthapuram and Ernakulam and 1 from Kottayam.
