Malayalee soldier killed, 2 injured in Pakistani firing along LoC in Rajouri

Srinagar: An Indian Army jawan was martyred and two others, including an officer, were injured on Tuesday when Pakistani troops violated ceasefire along the Line of Control (LoC) in Rajouri district of Jammu and Kashmir.

The deceased is identified as Aneesh Thomas, a native of Anchal in Kollam.

He is survived by wife and a 6-yr-old daughter.

In the afternoon hours, the Pakistani Army initiated unprovoked ceasefire violation by firing with small arms and intense shelling with mortars along LoC in Sunderbani sector of the district.

The Indian Army retaliated befittingly.

The officer, along with another soldier, is undergoing treatment at the military hospital.
