Thiruvananthapuram: Thiruvananthapuram Mayor V. Sreekumar said that KIIFB approved funds for fresh infrastructure projects in Trivandrum Consistuency.
Projects in the new list include road projects, hospitals, schools ,colleges, one flyover and tourism projects.
The KIIFB-funded project, implemented by Kerala Infrastructure and Technology for Education (KITE), aims at developing one school per constituency as a centre of excellence.
In the education sector, KIIFB funded for a new building comprising 1 classrooms, 5 labs, dinning hall and stage built at a cost of Rs 5 crore in Karthika Thirunnal HSS, Manacaud , Trivandrum.
Additionaly, Rs 1.25 crore for Bheemapally UPS, Rs 3.18 for Cotton Hill GHSS Vazhutacaud also KIIFB funded Rs 2.90 crore for Trivandrum Womens College, Rs 7.57 core for Govt Sanskrit college and Rs 7.89 crore for Thycaud Arts College.
As per the project, Sanghumukham and Veli road will also constructed. Second phase construction of Veli tourist village has also started using KIIFB fund.
Rs 150 crore has sanctioned for Punthura-Sangumukham offshore breakwater system and also Rs 206.9 crore for Trivandrum-Neyyar alternative source.
In KSEB sector, Rs 77.86 crore has sanctioned for KSEB line transmission project.
In order to avoid traffic issue in Attakulangara junction, a flyover will be constructed through KIIFB fund at a cost of Rs 77.86 crore.
