Parassala: The construction works of the proposed Hill Highway project between the Kodenchery and Kakkadampoyil stretch is progressing, Parassala MLA C.K Hareendran said.
KIIFB has allotted Rs 103 crore for construction of the stretch.
The widening of about 35 km of village road will become a reality under the scheme, which will elevate its status to the existing highway network. The route will cover villages such as Kodenchery, Pulikkayam, Punnakkal, Koombara, Anakkallumpara, Akampuzha, Kakkad, and Kakkadampoyil.
Rs 27 crore has been earmarked by KIIFB for Amaravila-Ottasekharamangalam road. Rs 43 crore have been sanctioned for drinking water projects in Aryancode Perumkadavila panchayat areas.
In tourism sector, Rs 17 crore has been earmarked by KIIFB for Kumbichalkadavu bridge.
The bridge across the Karippayar in the Amboori grama panchayat would help create a new tourism circuit connecting the Neyyar Dam with a host of destinations like the Ponmudi hill station, Meenmutty waterfall and a couple of destinations in Tamil Nadu, including Kanyakumari.
In the health sector, KIIFB alloted Rs 47 crores for the renovation works of Parassala taluk hospital.
Rs 11.20 crores have been alloted by KIIFB for Dhanuvachapuram ITI to be upgraded to international standard.
