Kollam: KIIFB has alloted Rs 150 crore as part of the Phase-4 development of the Asramam Link Road project that would be extended to Thoppilkadavu.
The project comprises construction of a new bridge across the confluence of the Kollam Canal with the Ashtamudi Lake.
On completion, the Asramam Link Road will enable those passing through Kollam to avoid the busy Collectorate-High School Junction-Taluk Office junction-Chinnakada and Railway station.
Rs 42 crore was earmarked by KIIFB for construction for Peruman bridge.
In the health sector, Rs 189 crore have been sanctioned for Kollam district hospital.
In education sector, Rs 5 crore has been approved by KIIFB for construction of a new building comprising of classrooms, labs, library in Anchalummoodu Government Higher Secondary School.
Additionally, Rs 4 crore was alloted for Mangad higher secondary school.
The KIIFB-funded project, implemented by Kerala Infrastructure and Technology for Education (KITE), aims at developing one school per constituency as a Centre of Excellence.
KIIFB has alloted Rs 45 crore for the construction of Sree Narayana Guru Cultural Complex at Kollam.
