No triple lockdown in Ernakulam for now: Minister

 

Kochi: Minister V.S Sunil Kumar said that there is no situation to impose triple lockdown in Ernakulam district as of now.

He added that at present, the pandemic is under control here and only if it gets out of hand, the authorities will think about triple lockdown.

However, the minister stated that the restrictions in the district will be tightened and more containment zones will be declared.

Aluva in the district is the most critical, he added.

Meanwhile, a meeting convened under the minister decided to temporarily re-open the Aluva and Chambakkara markets in police presence after disinfection. The functioning would be under strict police surveillance and as per guidelines issued by health department.
