P.J Joseph proposes new formula; offers 3 seats instead of Muvattupuzha

Kottayam: P.J Joseph faction of Kerala Congress (M) has proposed a new formula for seat sharing in UDF for upcoming Assembly election.

They have offered three seats including Kanjirappally, Poonjar and Perambra in exchange for Muvattupuzha seat.

Earlier, Joseph group had demanded 12 seats.

They informed that if UDF gives Muvattupuzha seat to them, they are ready to compromise with 10 seats. At the same time, Congress has offered only 9 seats to Joseph group from the initial discussions on seat sharing.

Meanwhile, the Joseph group has asserted that they are not ready to surrender Kaduthuruthy, Changanassery and Ettumanoor seats in Kottayam.

If Muvattupuzha is allotted to Joseph faction, Congress would not have any seat in the low range of Idukki. At present, Idukki, Thodupuzha and Kothamangalam seats are allotted to the Joseph faction.
