Thiruvananthapuram: Opposition leader Ramesh Chennithala came out heavily against Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan in connection with the gold smuggling case.
He alleged that CM fears former Principal Secretary M. Sivasankar who was ousted from the post after allegations were levelled against him.
“Pinarayi Vijayan is fearing Sivasankar and hence keeps repeating he is innocent. He is justifying and praising a Principal Secretary who was part of gold smuggling gang. Pinarayi Vijayan doesn’t deserve to hold the post of Chief Minister. CM and the government should resign and seek public decision,” Ramesh said.
"Has Sivasankar ever acted in accordance with Service rules for IAS officers? As per rules, case should be registered against Sivasankar and he should have been suspended and arrested", Ramesh added.
