Idukki: The search operation to find the 49 people who went missing in the landslide that occurred in Rajamala resumed on Saturday morning.
The mission is progressing under the leadership of the National Disaster Response Force (NDRF).
The search operation was stopped on Friday midnight due to hostile weather. There was heavy rain and fog in the area and the rescuers had to stop the mission temporarily as their vision was blurred.
As heavy rain pounded the region at night, it is feared that the slippery mud would affect the rescue mission.
A total of 18 deaths were confirmed in the mishap. The 11 people who were rescued are under treatment in various hospitals.
