Women in Cinema Collective has slammed A.M.M.A general secretary Edavela Babu over his controversial remark on the actress who was attacked.
WCC pointed out that when media considered the actress as a victim, they promoted her as a survivor.
In a Facebook post, WCC condemned Edavela Babu’s statement in which he compared the actress to a dead person.
“She is not dead. She is living here. While talking to a TV channel, Edavela Babu stated that A.M.M.A can not bring a deceased person back to movies pointing at her. We strongly condemn this statement,” said WCC in the post.
WCC also criticized the anti-feminist rules in the Malayalam film industry.
“In a more strong voice, we want to repeat to you who can not realize the anti-feminism in your words that you can not finish her. She will be alive.
WCC will support her in the legal battle,” wrote WCC.
