COVID-19: India records single-day spike of 52,972 new cases

New Delhi: India on Monday recorded a single-day spike of 52,972 positive cases in the last 24 hours.

India's COVID-19 tally has risen to 18,03,696 including 5,79,357 active cases and 1,186,203 cured/discharged/migrated, the Health Ministry said in its morning update.

With 771 deaths, the toll has risen to 38,135 in the country.

According to the ICMR, a cumulative total of 2,02,02,858 samples have been tested up to August 2 with 3,81,027 samples being tested on Sunday.
